Take II
- The second dress for Evelyn -
Like many ideas, it was conceived as a joke and a flight of fancy. It was drafted in the school's bathroom between pandemic lockdowns.

This was my first project after leaving the well stocked textiles workroom of Newstead Wood which presented its own set of challenges. I was suddenly confronted with budget and equipment constraints. I had no work surface, fabric shears nor mannequin. There was no mockup, no actual fittings.











Lack of early trains on Sundays and my inability to drive left us with sub-optimal conditions. The tide was rising, sun was already harsh and high, and waters (rougher than we expected) meant there were to be no crystal clear reflections. We settled on Stone bay as a walkable alternative to the wilder and more atmospheric Botany bay. Oh... and Yuran overslept.
